How can I add my name to the mailing list or change my contact information?
A: Our mailings are sent to one unified mailing list. To submit or correct your address and telephone number or to make certain you receive everything, please contact our office at email@example.com or (607) 785-3367
How do I communicate with the church?
A: Our offices are open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until Noon. (8:30 – Noon during the summer). For other times, please call for an appointment.
Staff members have boxes in the office where you may leave information.
Should I call the church about pastoral concerns such as a birth, a death, someone in the hospital or other personal needs?
A: YES. We want to know so we can respond as soon as possible. Call the church office at (607) 785-3367 to speak with a pastor, request a visit or have someone added to our prayer list.
How do I publicize something within the church?
A: To submit something for publication in church media, please send it to our Director of Connectional Ministiries at firstname.lastname@example.org. Submissions for the weekly bulletin, announcements, or website are due by noon on Tuesdays.
How do I get information concerning my pledge or other financial information?
A: Please contact the church at (607) 785-3367 and ask for our Finance Secretary. All financial matters are held in the strictist confidence.
If I lose something while at church, is there a “Lost and Found”?
A: Please check with the church office.
How do I schedule a meeting room or an event at the church?
A: All meetings are scheduled through the office at the church. Please make reservations in advance so that custodial support, heating and cooling, and other needs may be scheduled.
If I want to be married at Vestal UMC, what do I need to do?
A: You can call our office and speak with Linda. She will handle all of the arrangements and give you information concerning church policies, and get you in contact with one of our pastors. Our pastors will meet with you two to three times to plan the details of your celebration. They can conduct weddings on site in our sanctuary, or offsite as they are available.
Where is the church library, and when is it available?
A: Our library is located one floor above the Narthex. Except when scheduled for a small group or meeting, the library is available to you during church office hours. We have a large selection of great reference books, devotionals, and that will both inspire and uplift you. We have a children's and youth section, as well.
What if I have a concern, suggestion, or want to learn more about what goes on at our church?
A: First, you can talk to the specific staff person who works in your area of interest. See the staff page to determine the most appropriate member. Second, you may contact your co-lay leader Barry Biddle.
I am responsible for planning the programs for my group. Can someone help me with this?
A: Certainly! There are many excellent resource materials and speakers available. It is best to plan well in advance, since some materials may need to be ordered and many speakers have full schedules.
What should I wear to Vestal UMC?
A. You will find everything from business wear to jeans and a t-shirt. All are welcome and accepted - come as you are.
